There is a history of actors and athletes who move from the entertainment business to political life.  Their success and popularity usually transfers from their show biz career to their life in public service.  However, do these transitions usually help the average citizen.

Pro Business Anti People Actor turned Politician

In the United States, we had Good O’ Ronald Reagan who went from acting in B-films to 33rd Governor of California and eventually to the 40th President of the United States.  As a Governor, he was pro-business, anti-education, and anti civil rights.  Reaganomics which supplied pro businesses with an influx of money denied the worker from receiving financial help.

Jesse Ventura who went from Navy Seal to Pro Wrestler and eventually as Minnesota’s Governor.  In a later interview, he publicly mentioned he would have gladly served with Gays in the Navy Seal and supports gay marriage fully.  While advocating for public education and mass transportation, he has fallen short with managing the budget though his policy with giving back tax dollars to the people is whole heartily a lot better than most politicians dishing that money back to the hands of the rich.
